Developer Says Flower Mound Condo Tower is Half Presold

The planned Lakeside DFW condo tower is 14 stories.

Developers have begun selling condominiums in a high-rise residential building planned in Flower Mound. Irving-based Realty Capital Management plans to build The Lakeside Tower and Bungalows luxury condominiums on the northeast shore of Lake Grapevine. The developer said Wednesday that about half of the planned 44 condos in the 14-story building have been sold. “We have been surprised and thrilled with the response from buyers for this product”, Realty Capital’s Richard Myers said in a statement. “Most of the buyers are down-sizing from large homes and are tired of maintaining them.” The Mediterranean-style condominium tower was designed by Humphreys & Partners and will be constructed by Yates Construction. The residential units range in price from $595,000 to $2.95 million for 1,300 square feet to over 5,700 square feet. Construction is planned to begin next spring with completion in the second half of September 2016. The Lakeside Tower and Bungalows are in Realty Capital’s 150-acre Lakeside DFW mixed-use development at FM 2499 and Lakeside Parkway.

Hillwood To Begin ‘Union Park’ on Hwy 380

After eight months of planning, Dallas-based Hillwood Communities is ready to kick off its massive $600 million master-planned community along the U.S. 380 corridor that will bring 2,400 homes to North Texas. The 787-acre community – named Union Park – will include a 30-acre park with ponds, trails and woods at the development site off U.S. 380 in Little Elm. “Our first phase will include 400 home lots, which is a big phase,” Fred Balda, president of Hillwood Communities, told the Dallas Business Journal.“I think the bar has been raised for master-planned communities in this area. There’s an incredible amount of options for buyers right now and there’s a lot of tours hitting this corridor.” Hillwood Communities plans to break ground on Union Park, the new $600 million residential development, on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. Plans for the project include an amenity center and an amphitheater, which will serve as a central gathering place for the community’s residents. And a food truck area, ball fields, camping areas, hike-and-bike trails and other programming to give this project a neighborhood environment. Hillwood also wanted more than twice the required green space at Union Park to give residents a small-town community feel and to encourage socializing, he said.
